Most frequently asked questions
What is a Tonia Art Punch Needle kit?
Our kits are complete creative sets for making either a wall decoration (canvas stretched on a gallery frame) or a fashion accessory (a personalized tote bag). Each kit is designed to provide a relaxing punch-needle experience with all necessary materials included.
What exactly does the kit contain?
Each kit is ready to use and includes: your chosen support (premium canvas on a wooden frame or a heavy cotton tote bag), all the yarn needed for the design, a high-quality punch needle, an embroidery hoop (for bags), textile glue, and an illustrated step-by-step guide.
Are the tote bags durable?
Absolutely. Our bags are made from heavyweight, high-quality cotton. Once the embroidery is finished and secured using our instructions, the bag can be used daily. We recommend gentle hand washing to preserve the texture and relief of the yarn.
Pourquoi vos toiles de tableaux sont-elles montées sur châssis ?
Unlike standard kits, our canvases are delivered pre-stretched on wooden frames. This ensures perfect tension for effortless embroidery and allows you to hang your artwork as soon as it's finished, without needing an additional frame.
What are the special features of the yarn included in your kits?
We carefully select our yarns (wool, acrylic, or blends) for each design to ensure optimal texture and exceptional softness. Each kit offers a palette of varied textures, perfectly matched to the support, so that your creation - whether a canvas or a bag - delivers a professional, long-lasting finish.
Do the kits include instructions?
Yes, absolutely. Each kit includes a detailed printed guide to lead you step-by-step. Additionally, you will find an exclusive QR code that gives you access to video tutorials. These videos demonstrate the basic Punch Needle techniques, so you can start your project with confidence, even without any prior experience.
How do I care for my Tonia Art creation?
For Punch Needle wall art, occasional light dusting with a feather duster or dry cloth is sufficient.
For Tote Bags, we recommend a gentle hand wash in cold water to preserve the relief and texture of the yarns (wool, cotton, acrylic). Avoid using a washing machine or dryer. After washing, lay your bag flat to air dry. Our kits include tips for permanently securing your loops so your bag remains impeccable through daily use.
At what age can you start Punch Needle?
Our kits are recommended for ages 12 and up. Due to the presence of a sharp punch needle, use by children under 12 must be done under the constant supervision and responsibility of an adult.
Are your kits suitable as a gift?
Absolutely! Our Punch Needle kits are an original and creative gift idea for any occasion (birthdays, holidays, Christmas). Each kit is carefully packed in an elegant kraft box with an exclusive themed sticker, ready to be gifted. It is a unique experience accessible to everyone, even those who have never held a needle in their lives. It’s the perfect gift to offer a moment of relaxation and the pride of creating something with one's own hands
Is the embroidery on the bag strong? Is there a risk of the yarn coming out?
We've planned everything to ensure the durability of your creation. Each tote bag kit includes a piece of fusible interfacing (Vlieseline). Once your embroidery is finished, simply apply this backing to the inside of the bag with an iron. This permanently secures the loops and protects the reverse of your piece, ensuring the yarn stays perfectly in place even with daily use.
I have never done Punch Needle, are your kits suitable for absolute beginners?
Yes, absolutely! Our kits are designed to be accessible to everyone. However, to get the best results and learn the basics at your own pace, we recommend that beginners start with our designs featuring a limited number of colors. These models make it easier to become familiar with the technique before moving on to more complex patterns. Once you’ve mastered the first stitches, you’ll be ready for all our creative worlds!
